The National Health and Medical Research Council released the Australian guidelines to reduce health risks from drinking alcohol on 6 March 2009. The department has produced a number of resources to promote the messages in the new guidelines.

Due to limited resources, a maximum of 50 items per product can be ordered directly through this website. Orders for individual products above 50 will need to obtain permission via emailing alcohol.policy@health.gov.au with the following details:

Australian Alcohol Beverage Advertsing in Mainstream Australian Media 2003 to 2005: Expenditure, Exposure and Related Issues (PDF 325 KB)
As part of an evaluation of the impact of the revised Alcohol Beverage Advertising Code (ABAC) on alcohol advertising in the Australian media, the Australian Government commissioned research into the placement of alcohol beverage advertising within the Australian media. Utilising Nielsen Media Research syndicated advertising estimated expenditure data, this study examined the extent of alcohol beverage advertising in Australian media, and assessed the exposure of young people to this advertising, for those aged younger (13-17 years) and older (18-29 years) than the legal drinking age of 18 years.
